Appointment at the salon

How does an appointment work at Les Jumelles Hair Aesthetics Salon?

You will be welcomed by a specialist in one of our seven private rooms. We’ll provide advice and answer all your questions. You can try on hair pieces tailored to your needs from our vast exclusive collection on-site.

How does a virtual consultation work?

You must send us photos of yourself and a brief description of what you're looking for to help us find suitable options and present them via video.
Ideally, you should come to the salon afterwards to finalize the acquisition of the hairpiece.
(Send your photos and details to: salonlesjumelles@gmail.com)

Can I come to the salon without an appointment?

No, it is necessary to book an appointment for a consultation with a specialist. The consultation fee is $50 plus tax, which is waived if you make a purchase or place an order.

How many times a year should I come back to the salon?

We recommend rotating the clips and doing a deep treatment on the piece with each change of season, and having it colored once or twice a year.

Can I get to the salon by public transportation?

Yes, the salon is located between Fabre and Jean-Talon metro stations. You can also take the 95 Eastbound bus, which will drop you off at the corner of Bélanger and de Lanaudière streets.

The Hairpiece

Can I sleep with my hairpiece on?

No. In general, we recommend removing it at night for comfort and to preserve its condition. You can place it on the wig stand we provide.

Can the color of the hairpiece be changed?

Yes, it is possible to adjust the color on any hairpiece made of natural hair. It’s easier to darken than to lighten.

How often should the hairpiece be washed?

If you wear it every day, it should be washed approximately every 2 to 4 weeks. If you wear it only occasionally, it can go between 4 to 8 weeks between washes.

Can I find a hairpiece in just one visit?

Yes, we carry a large inventory of hairpieces on-site. The specialist will make the necessary adjustments and customization to meet your expectations and ensure a very natural result.

Do the volumizer and wig stay securely in place in the wind?

Yes, the clips are strong enough to keep the volumizer from blowing away. It's guaranteed 😉
The wig also stays securely on the head. We have several little tricks to ensure both comfort and hold.

What is a hair volumizer?

A volumizer is a partial hairpiece made of natural hair that covers a specific area lacking volume or hair.
It is very quick and easy to apply. It can be clipped into your natural hair or semi-permanently attached with a special adhesive.

What is a wig?

A wig is a full hairpiece made of either natural or synthetic hair that covers the entire head.

Can I use all heated styling tools on my hairpiece? (flat iron, curling iron, hair dryer)

Yes, provided your hairpiece is made of 100% natural hair and you use a heat protectant beforehand.
We also offer styling lessons to help you master the art of styling your hairpiece.

Can I swim with my hairpiece?

Yes, you can swim in a lake, but we advise against submerging your hairpiece in pool or sea water. You can tie your hair up to keep it out of the water.
If it does get wet, simply rinse the hairpiece, wash it, and treat it as usual.

Can you tie your hair when wearing a hairpiece?

Yes, it is completely possible to style your hair just as you normally would.

Does the volumizer set off airport security detectors?

No!

Is it possible to change the parting?

Yes, simply wet the parting, reshape it with a comb where you want it, and then dry it.

What are the common mistakes made?

Volumizer worn upside down
Be careful not to put your volumizer on upside down. Yes, it has happened before! The label with a number or your name should always be at the back (just like in clothing).

Too much product
Some people tend to use too many products. The products we recommend at the salon are high quality and quite concentrated, so you don’t need to use a lot.
Pssst — the care sheet given to you at purchase guides you on the amounts to use.

Not rinsing enough
It is very important to rinse products thoroughly to avoid buildup.
